 The Consulate reserves the right to reject attestation of documents the contents of which are objectionable or contrary to the Rules.
The Consulate does not attest any document issued by authorities in India. If any document issued by authorities in India (such as birth and death certificates, affidavits, diplomas, marriage certificate and educational certificates issued by authorities in India ) are required to be presented to authorities in USA, these should be apostilled in India. Applicants resident in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Puerto Rico, South Carolina,  Tennessee and US Virgin Islands can apply. 

Applying by mail:
It is mandatory to apply for Indian passport of the Child along with registration of birth. The registration of birth must be done at the Indian Consulate within one year of Child's birth.

Supporting Documents:
Photocopy of all
supporting documents should be notarized and attached to the application. Do not send any original documents except the document to be attested.

 FEE:

Fee of $ 25(Twenty Five) in favor of Consulate General of India. Atlanta. And an additional  fee of $2 (Two )  with a separate cheque or money order in favor of Indian Community Welfare Fund.
(Personal Cheques, Credit Cards, Debit Cards Or Other Banking Instruments Are Not Accepted)
How to Apply:

 Miscellaneous Services Form - Download and complete the Application form.bulletAttach the following documents with the application form:
 Current Indian passports of both parents. photocopy of the first five pages and last two pages of the current passports.
 Proof of US Visa Status of both parents:(copy of any one of the following)
 Photocopy of the page containing visa on passport (H1B, H4 etc) and the copy of I-94
Clear Photocopy of Green Card
 Employment Authorization Document (Work Permit)
 I-797, I-140 or I-20 (If approval copy of these notices are pending, also attach a handwritten note detailing the efforts being taken to regularize status)
 Proof of current US residence address for any parent: (copy of any one of the following)

U.S Driving license.
 PG&E, Water or landline telephone bill displaying applicant's address
 House Lease Agreement
 State Identification Card
 Note:Bank/credit card/mobile phone statements are not accepted as residence proof
 Original Birth Certificate of the child along with a photocopy.
 Notarized declarationof both parents that they have not taken any other nationality for the child.

In case the Consulate receives applications with incomplete documentation, the same will be sent back unprocessed in the return envelope sent by the applicant.
Processing Time:

5-7 business days excluding the time taken in mail.
